Unfortunately, the Creation Science Fellowship that has blessed so many over the past 16 years will no longer be meeting, effective immediately.

It is with deep heartache that we share with you the parting of ways between Bill Morgan, leader of Creation Science, and Calvary Chapel WestGrove. This decision is due to the recent discovery that Bill is no longer aligned with the essential Christian doctrine that Jesus is God. Bill shared with the leadership of our church his belief that Jesus is not God nor the second person of the trinity.

It is our view as a church and the historic, orthodox Christian view that Jesus is God and a person of the Trinity. The Trinity is made up of three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) with only one nature (God), and Jesus is the second person of the Trinity. Jesus existed with God and was God from eternity past (John 1:1). When Jesus became flesh, he took on a second nature, being both fully God and fully man. So, although being incarnate (having flesh and human nature), He is still fully God (fully divine in nature as the second person of the trinity). This is shown biblically as Jesus is explicitly called God several times in scripture (John 1:1,18; 20:28; Romans 9:5; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8; 2 Peter 1:1). Jesus’ deity is apparent in His position of Creator (Hebrews 1:1–4), Judge (John 5:22–30), and Savior (2 Peter 1:11), all of which are only attributed to God. Jesus says of Himself, that “He and the Father are one” (John 10:30). The danger in deviating from the essential belief in Jesus’ deity is that the Bible is very clear that any deviation in the person and work of Christ, is to deviate from the faith “once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).
